Apulia Blend was created by Danilo Manco. After having spent the previous four years studying in London I noticed that eating habits in the UK  were changing. People were definitely more concerned about their food and started to be more interested about the origin of food and how it was made.

Many products with Italian labels on them had not even seen Italy and as such there was no guarantee of origin and genuineness.

Being born in Puglia, a place where the production of Olive Oil is more than 50% of all Italian Olive Oil produced, it is easy to understand why I found myself involved with Olive Oil from Puglia. Ironically, as a kid I would find any possible excuse not to go to the harvesting of olives, but no excuses would work with my grandfather when he came round and took me to the field!

The idea to bring a product into the UK seems to have already been here for decades, but in reality the were only few Olive Oils that could be considered a good product. Back when I started in 2001, there were very few people aware that in Italy there was a region called Puglia and that this region was famous for the production of Olive Oil.

I must thank my first customers who have believed in my products and have spread the word to their friends and relatives; this can be the only reason for the great success of Apulia Blend, since I have never done any kind of advertising. Another big thank you goes to my supplier for saying no to "Progress" that tends to destroy an endless number of families who keep handing down their traditions from father to son. Every October I still find myself there together with the rest of the family and all the relatives for another "raccolto". The are some things that never change and these may be the best things in our lives.
